Be Not Afraid

This weekend we traveled to St. Jude Church in Baton Rouge to speak to a group of 5th-12th graders.  Katie spoke to the group about the prodigal son since it was Divine Mercy Sunday and how the Father always welcomes us home.

I spoke about the call of Jeremiah and the Lord’s words to “Be not afraid…because I am with you to deliver you.” Jer 1:8  I challenged the students to hear God’s call in their lives so that He may use them for his good, just as he used Jeremiah.  God wants to use us for his good no matter what our age.  When Jermiah says, “I know not how to speak; I am too young,”  the Lord says, “Say not ‘I am too young’…whatever I command you, you shall speak.” Jer 1:7

In closing, I spoke briefly about Blessed Pope John Paul II and his call to “Be not afraid.”  In all, it was a pretty amazing night.  The students were truly wonderful.  Thanks St. Jude for inviting us.

May the peace of Christ be with you this Easter season,

Jason
