Three Retreats, Two Days, One Awesome Week!
This March has proven to be an incredible and crazy time for us! We were blessed to spend some time this week with young people from the Archdiocese of New Orleans and some even younger people from the Diocese of Baton Rouge.
On Tuesday, after a rambunctious morning of games and team building activities, Jason talked with the 7th grade boys of St.Clement of Rome in Metairie, LA, about putting on the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-20) In the Battle of life.
On Thursday, we returned to St.Clement of Rome to spend the day with the 7th grade girls. After one of the most intense games of Lover’s Leap ever witnessed, I talked with the girls about God’s desire for a relationship with each of us. The girls were encouraged to spend some time In the Garden with our Father who knew us before He even formed us (Jeremiah1:4-10).
While the little ladies of St. Clement of Rome and I were having some girl time, Jason entertained around eighty very enthusiastic 4th graders at Our Lady of Mercy in Baton Rouge, LA. In addition to the fun, games, and music, Jason shared the story of Jesus’ earthly father, St.Joseph. The youngsters were then invited to reflect about the adult role models in their lives who help to teach and guide them in their faith.
All three retreats challenged the youth to be grateful for the communities they are blessed to be a part of. We are thankful to those communities as well! It was a pleasure to walk with you in your Lenten journeys! St. Clement of Rome and Our Lady of Mercy, know that you will continue to be in our prayers!!
